We’re not sure if the world was truly crying out for a reboot of The Naked Gun, but considering we’re currently on the seventh Superman movie and the fourth version of the Fantastic Four, we can’t really work up any dudgeon over it. Besides, it’s getting fairly good reviews and anything that boosts Pamela Anderson’s career is a good thing, as far as we’re concerned. She and her co-star Liam Neeson got themselves fancied up for the London premiere.
We spent many words on her approach to red carpet style last year, when The Last Showgirl was getting a lot of awards buzz and she was executing a career renaissance that no one saw coming. In sum: we support and understand why she’d want to tamp down on the glam at this point in her life, but we always felt her approach of wearing conventionally glam trappings without visible makeup didn’t always work all that well. But this really works for us, for the most part. It comes down to the color and the level of polish in the styling. We absolutely think a gown like this, with diamond earrings and styled hair, pretty much requires some sort of makeup, but she’s pulling the clean look off fairly well. We can’t say we love the printed velvet suit, but it’s at least a little interesting and the shoes are nice. He really needs to dial back on the hair dye, however.
