Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson continued their somewhat chummy little promo tour for The Naked Gun with the Berlin premiere. There’s been some chatter about their behavior in public, but we’re reserving judgment because whenever a red carpet story breaks containment, people who maybe aren’t used to how romantic leads act while promoting their work tend to weigh in and misinterpret things. It’s been happening with Pedro Pascal lately too.
On the other hand, yes, that sure is pretty chummy, so who knows? We wonder if people want to see them together because they’ve both had painful stories play out in public and they’re that relative rarity: an age-appropriate pair of senior leads.
They’re also a couple of rules-breaking rebels, thumbing their nose at red carpet conventions. She’s been sporting an unusually (for a red carpet) clean face ever since her comeback last year, which has always read as a powerful statement in defiance of her years of objectification and exploitation. It’s admirable and we feel like this dress and the last one have been good choices for that kind of look, especially since she’s been sporting a more coiffed hair and just the right touches of jewelry. We hate those straps, but it’s still a good look for her. He’s flouting the norms by wearing the exact same, highly identifiable suit he wore to the previous premiere. This isn’t so much a personal statement as it is laziness.
