Natasha Lyonne stepped out onto the Empire State Building observation deck in a surprising little style choice in order to promote Smurfs.
We would not have pegged her as the “sexy little micro-mini” type, but she’s been fooling around with her style a bit in recent years and we support any attempts to get her out of that Studio 54 rut she was stuck in for a long time. But do we actually like this? Not really. Despite our longstanding and often-stated dislike of black-backed florals, we think the print is cute. We’ll never be the types to tsk-tsk any star for wearing something that shows a lot of skin, but there really is such a thing as a skirt that’s too short. While we can understand why she didn’t want to wear the garter stocking with it, the fact remains that the dress was designed to be worn with them. You take them away and she’s stuck with those weird bloomers sticking out from under the hem, forcing her to pose awkwardly. It’s a shame. With an inch or two added to the hem, this could have been cute. The shoes clash, though.
