A whole truckload of stars came out for the premiere of the new Lena Dunham-scripted, Meg Stalter-starring series Too Much and some of them were on their very best style behavior. Others, not so much.
Megan Stalter
This is the cutest we’ve ever seen her look and that dress isn’t bad, although we don’t love the lacey bits. The shoes and socks are horrible with it.
Will Sharpe
We get irrationally angry at the way he dresses when we consider what he’s got going on under there. We don’t mind a slouchy fit, but he dresses like a depressed octogenarian.
Lena Dunham
No doubt about it: the most effort she’s ever put into a look and, not coincidentally, the best she’s ever looked on a red carpet. You can tell this project means a lot to her, because back in the Girls days, she constantly trolled the red carpet in deliberately ugly outfits.
Rita Wilson
It’s giving “small town dress shop.”
Janicza Bravo
There’s such a thing as being too quirky for the red carpet. The look is cute until you get to the socks and shoes. The basket is goofy as hell.
Jessica Gunning
That’s… not great. We like the idea of a black jumpsuit for her, but the sleeves and neckline are dowdy and the pants are way too long.
Andrew Scott
One of us may or may not have yelled “JESUS CHRIST NO” at the site of all this light wash denim. He always tries to look so cool and usually winds up looking so dorky. What’s frustrating about it is that this shouldn’t be so hard for him.
Fergie
We would expect no different from her. That sounds like a read, but really, she looks great; totally Fergie.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
Jessica (Megan Stalter) is a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows. When every block in New York tells a story of her own bad behaviour, the only solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude like a Bronte sister. But when she meets Felix (Will Sharpe) – a walking series of red flags – she finds that their unusual connection is impossible to ignore, even as it creates more problems than it solves. Now they have to ask themselves: do Americans and Brits actually speak the same language? From the creator of Girls and the producers of Love Actually, TOO MUCH is an ex-pat rom-com for the disillusioned who wonder if true love is still possible, but sincerely hope that it is.
