Shall we read some red carpet tea leaves together, darlings? Let’s. You see, Blake Lively came to the Tribeca Film Festival Chanel Artists Dinner last night, just hours after a judge threw out her former co-star and director Justin Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against her. Do we think she’s sending any sort of message with her outfit?
Honestly? No. It’s a Chanel dinner, so the outfits were all picked and handed out well before yesterday. Besides, despite her bestie Taylor Swift making an art out of it, Blake really isn’t the type to send secret messages to her fans or whatever. No, the tea-leaf-reading here is that there’s an obvious sense of exhausted relief on her face – to us, anyway. She tends to be extremely exuberant on red carpet and here, she looks like she needs to sit somewhere and have a good cry. Of course there’s no way to accurately peg someone’s mental state from a few still photos, but she definitely comes off a little… we don’t know, chastened here. As for the outfit, it’s meh, but the sandals are really cute.
