Thunderbolts star Julia Louis-Dreyfus stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to do a little promo work, follow the latest trend, and offer up a little style twist on her usual. All in all, a very productive night for her, we’d say.
Her style has always been consistent and well-presented. In recent years, we feel like things had gotten a little stale. It wasn’t so much that she’d gotten worse at styling herself, but it seemed like a timidity was creeping in where there used to be more of a sense of boldness and fun. If we may be permitted the observation, it’s not at all uncommon for stars to flounder a little right around their 60th birthday. Decades of maintenance and discipline have left them looking much younger than their age, but the industry and society in general treats them so differently that some of them go through a period of wondering what they can still get away with and what is veering into mutton-as-lamb territory. So it’s nice to see her going big, bold and glam again. She’s also following the latest trend of dressing for talk shows the same way you’d dress for a red carpet premiere, so she’s hitting all the bases tonight.
