Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford would like some Emmys now, please. Just don’t expect either of them to work too hard asking for them. The stars of 1923 came to their For Your Consideration event dressed identically to roughly 90 percent of their red carpet appearances in the last ten years.
Actually, Harrison’s more like 99%.
It’s fine. It’s semi-professional. He just doesn’t care.
It’s also fine (in the sense that it’s acceptable, not in the sense that we like it), but she really has spent the last decade wearing dozens of black-backed floral dresses, witchy pairs of shoes, and puffy headbands. What’s so crazy about her strict adherence to these styles is that none of them suit her or do anything for her. The florals always look harsh and the headbands make her hair look stringy. We simply don’t understand why a woman approaching 80 would want to wear witch shoes of any kind. While we wouldn’t call anything here “youthful” in tone, the fact remains that these pieces work differently on an older woman than they would on a younger one. Just look at the model in the look book shot.
