The boystars so rarely give us a reason to focus solely on their photo call efforts at Cannes, but since we have a backlog of red carpetry to get through, we felt like doing a rundown of some of the more notable or less interesting guy looks on the beach this week.
A$AP Rocky at the HIGHEST 2 LOWEST Photo Call
We’ll tell you right now, no one else in this rundown did as sharply and well as he did. This is a fantastic look, except for the pants puddle.
Austin Butler at the EDDINGTON Photo Call
We’re not mad at it, although a thin belt would look so chic with it. It’s giving Clark Gable on the Riviera.
Gael García Bernal at the MAGELLAN Photo Call
Our photo agency didn’t have full length shots, but we thought this look was too cute to pass up. If you’re curious, he was wearing patent leather stiletto pumps. No he, wasn’t. We’re just testing to see if you’re still reading.
Harris Dickinson in Prada at the URCHIN Photo Call
Good afternoon, Pastor.
Joaquin Phoenix at the EDDINGTON Photo Call
He’ll always seem like an asshole to us. We think the casualness is perfectly fine, but the undershirt’s a bit dickish.
Luke Grimes at the EDDINGTON Photo Call
Beachy and simple. Can’t hate it, although we think the shirt washes him out a little.
Micheal Ward at the EDDINGTON Photo Call
This has been a big week for flared pants paired with Mario and Luigi footwear. It feels very ’90s. Since we’ve spent the last several years complaining about doll feet on men, we are duty bound to support this turn of events. This color looks great although we’d never have recommended a whole outfit in it because it starts looking too much like a uniform.
Shia LaBeouf at the SLAUSON REC Photo Call
A lot of guys are working a ’30s-’40s movie star vibe this week and we can’t say we’re mad at it. Of course he’ll always come off amazingly pretentious, but this looks kind of great.
