The stars came out for the Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors’ Fund) Gala in order to support their community of entertainers. We would add “and also to serve looks,” but we don’t think that was necessarily a goal for some of them. No shade! Okay, maybe a little shade.
Ariana DeBose in Stella McCartney
It’s a charity event for entertainers, so it’s both low-key and a little flashy at the same time. We’d say this fits the bill. We like the chain strap but we don’t think yellow satin is a good idea for anyone.
Darren Criss
Well done. It’s not exciting or trendy but it’s not meant to be. Love the color.
Denzel Washington
That’s about as good as it gets with Denzel these days. We’ll let the man be, but we’ll note that it’s always a mistake to try and pair kicks and a t-shirt with a formal suit. There are suits for which these items are made.
Idina Menzel
This is kind of fun, but that color is extremely difficult to pull off and those shoes only work with it if you’re a member of the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies.
Lisa Ann Walter
The idea is sound. She’s a lady who can work the shit out of leopard and we like the cropped jacket with it. But the hem length is awkward, the print looks chintzy, and the hair is wiggy.
Michael Urie
This all works just fine, although we question if those pants are the right cut for the boots. Nice suit, though.
Nicole Scherzinger
The dress is okay, but half the jewelry pieces need to go. The whole point to statement pieces is that they each, individually, are so strong and focus-pulling that they make a statement ON THEIR OWN. Girl, you’ve got a paragraph on your arms.
