Okay, kittens. If we don’t start lining up the attendees of the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and mass judging them, we’ll still be recapping Oscar night three weeks from now. Stars? Line up for judgment. Kittens? Prepare yourselves for two more installments. LFG.
Alison Brie in Versace
It’s a nice dress, but it seems a little casual.
Andrew Garfield in Gucci
So he basically just wears the same outfit, over and over again, in different colors. It suits him, but that’s the opposite of good style.
Anna Kendrick in Ashi Studio
Okay, so we hate the skirt grapes. And the shape of it. But her style has always had to fight the tendency to go bland, so we kind of like this for her. If nothing else, it’s far from generic.
Bowen Yang in Versace
Nice, conventional, safe. No complaints.
Cara Delevingne in GapStudio
Just about the hottest denim gown we’ve ever seen.
Catherine O’Hara in Gabriela Hearst
Looks a little too much like those potholders you made in summer camp.
Ciara in Dsquared2
Your skin condition jumpsuit is flattening your boobs, girl. Every word in that sentence serves as a rebuke.
Danielle Deadwyler in Gucci
This is a pretty design, but we’re only so-so on the color. Yellow so rarely photographs well on the red carpet.
Doja Cat in Balmain
Hate the fringe, but this is fabulous and hot.
Halle Bailey in Samuel Gärtner
Fancy lingerie.
Hannah Einbinder in Louis Vuitton
EXTERMINATE (iykyk)
Julianne Hough in Schiaparelli
Credit where it’s due: we can’t stop looking at it. But that’s because it’s just so weird.
Justin Theroux
One the one hand, it’s nice to see him out of his black skinny suits. On the other hand, those pants are terrible and the fit on the jacket isn’t great.
Kelly Rowland in Stéphane Rolland Couture
Beautifully strange.
Kiernan Shipka in Rodarte
It’s fine, but we’re exhausted by sheer lace dresses at the moment.
Laverne Cox in Vintage Mugler
Super fun!
Leslie Bibb in Fendi
We have no doubt this shimmered beautifully in person, but in pictures, all you see are the panties. The color doesn’t provide her enough contrast.
Lizzo in Christian Siriano
The bodice is great, but the skirt is silly.
Mark Eydelshteyn in Loewe
LOVE. We get that the roomy fit is deliberate, but everything’s way too long on him. She shoes are terrible. Guys, do not try and make formal Crocs a thing.
Mikey Madison in Dior
This is the best thing she’s worn all year.
Sydney Sweeney in Miu Miu
Can’t argue with that.
Timothée Chalamet in Tom Ford
See? He still remembers how to get dressed up when he wants to.
Vanessa Hudgens in Tamara Ralph
Meh. Basic and half-assed.
Yuriy Borisov
The fit is a little roomier than we’d like, but we have no arguments here.
Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent
The back is cutely sexy, but the front is too plain. We get that it’s a walking-away dress, but she looks like a priest from the front (very much not so from the back).
More to come in Part TWO!
