What would it take for T Lo to post about a red carpet look on the day of the Oscars that had nothing to do with the Oscars? Apparently, Sabrina Carpenter serving babyheads at the Brit Awards will do it.
We figured this look will get lost in the onslaught of red carpetry to come in the next 24 hours, so we thought we’d get some judging in now, because it’s our favorite thing in the world: a discussable dress. We think this is kind of interesting because it trades in the cutesy-poo sexiness that characters her aesthetic, but it has a couture grandiosity to it that feels a little more grownup for her. We tend to dislike fringe and a lot of ruching, plus we’ve been complaining quite a bit lately about seeing too much pink on the red carpet, so we’re going to turn the final call on this one over to y’all. But we really do like this more than we could have predicted. There’s a luxe richness to it that looks great on her and the styling is gorgeous. Granted, the makeup looks like she got slapped and it might have been better applied with a lighter hand, but we’re thrilled to be moving into a style period where the pin-straight hair is considered stale. Bring on those curls, girls. Anyway, let’s hear it, before the Oscars come and sweep us all away:
