We figured we’d give Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip star Paulina Chávez a little spotlight post because we’re all about letting the ingenues and up-and-comers have their moment. Fortunately for us, she’s taking this moment to have some real fun with her fashion.

This is a lot of look for promoting this kind of movie, but we’ll always love when a young star figures out that fashion is one of the best tools in her promotional arsenal, and that using it in strongly declarative ways can only be to your benefit. Despite the unnecessary grandiosity of the look, we really love it. The Mexican folk art motifs are both pretty and powerful. The skirt design is genuinely interesting and we love that minaudiere, although we don’t think it coordinates all that well with the rest of it.
