Snow White star Rachel Zegler stopped by the New York Theatre Workshop Gala to unveil new horizons in fashion minimalism. Because there’s whatever passes for our understanding of what minimalist fashion is, and then there’s… this:
Bless her heart, she looks like a paint swatch from the boring end of the scale. We have a deep dislike of tricky hems and Silly Putty pumps, and we think poor deployment of sheer illusion fabric is a crime. We’re neutral on the whole question of side boob. Our point is that there’s a germ of an interesting idea here (mainly in the front of the bodice), but as a garment, it’s overdesigned in some areas and wildly underdesigned in others. The effect is awkward and unbalanced. But we figure you get to make the final call on this one, since it sets off so many of our personal red flags.
