Kittens, we are positively DROWNING in a sea of weekend red carpetry. Not that we’re complaining! We still remember the pandemics and the strikes and the lockdowns and all that whatnot that left us without any content, so we’re thrilled that it’s Monday and we already have a massive backlog of looks to judge. But it’s time for us to shut down briefly, stare at the walls, and chew our cud quietly. We need a moment to recharge, so you’re gonna have to take care of this one. At the BAFTA Awards, Wicked star Ariana Grande worked a much more sophisticated Glinda look than we’re used to seeing form her.
It’s poufy and pink, but we think it’s much more sophisticated than a lot of the princessy gowns she wore in the last year. We could be wrong, but we think we detect an improvement on the hair and makeup front as well. Everything seems a shade or two darker, which is good for her. She was looking sickly and washed out all year with the blonde and the oddly yellow face. Having said that, the drag brow contouring at the hairline is a little out of control. But you make the call here, so everything we just wrote doesn’t really matter all that much. Let’s hear it.
