Sing Sing star Colman Domingo took home the Best Actor trophy at the Gotham Awards, which immediately propelled him to the forefront of the Best Actor Oscar race. It is perhaps not surprising to anyone who follows such matters that he dressed beautifully for the occasion.

We wouldn’t say the Gothams are a casual affair, but they do tend to allow for a little more leeway and self-expression than a lot of other major film awards ceremonies, which is why we think the suede shoes and lack of a shirt work well here. This is how you wear a more or less conventional suit and make sure that everyone who sees you understands you to be an artist and a person of refinement. Love the color, ADORE the coat. We just wish the pants had a half-inch taken off the hem.
