With all of the solemnity he could muster on one sip of coffee, Lorenzo greeted Tom this morning with tempered excitement. “Cathy’s out,” he said, with all the weight of someone announcing a peace accord or a medical breakthrough. The Princess of Wales seems to have ended her medical leave (for now) as she joined her hubs to welcome Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani of Qatar.

It’s all very official, stateswoman-like, and matchy in the extreme. In other words, Cathy’s back. It’s a lovely coat. We’re likely to never find that style of headgear anything but stale, with the understanding that staleness is almost literally part of the job description. In a similar vein, the jewels would normally be considered a bit much for a day look, but again, that’s the job: get out there in the hottest outerwear designs of 1935, sporting way too much jewelry before lunch. It’s good to have you back on the clock, Princess. Love your hair like that.
