We went back and forth on the idea of featuring this look, but sometimes you just want to say “Attagirl” when someone goes low-key and elegant. A Complete Unknown star Elle Fanning ditched the pigtails and retro frocks and headed to The Tonight Show in something refreshingly simple.

It’s a basic dress that doesn’t ask too much of its wearer and while it doesn’t exactly deliver on the razzle-dazzle, there’s a quiet sophistication to it. We would’ve rec’d a necklace or maybe some shoes with a little more visual oomph. The sheer tights pretty much make the look.
