We’ve always been a little harsh about Woman of the Hour star/director Anna Kendrick’s style choices, finding them bland, timid, and incapable of getting the promotional job done. If everything you wear is instantly forgettable, how good can your promotional style choices be? But we like to think that when we finally see a long-criticized star wear something boldly beautiful, we feel duty bound to do her a solid.
Attagirl. This is beautiful and memorable. It’s also simple and unfussy in the way she likes. As always, if your tastes run toward the conventional, look to color choices for impact. Having said that, this shade of yellow is notoriously hard to pull off for pale folks and we wouldn’t have recommended it ourselves. She does look amazing in it, but we tend to think a warmer yellow would be friendlier to her. Also, she needs jewelry. But still! Attagirl!
