While we’re not normally given to praising black lace dresses, we thought the one Zoe Saldana wore to the Mill Valley Film Festival screening of Emilia Perez was interesting, flattering, and worthy of discussion. This just one weensy little detail that makes putting this one up to a vote kind of a silly proposition:

And we’re not talking about the belt. Yes, we’re all very tired of looking at the panties of the rich and famous. It is not, however, a trend that is going to go away any time soon, judging by the runways. What fascinates us about this trend is how little of it we out in the real world, since most people don’t actually want to expose their underwear to strangers. All those sheer dresses you see walk the runway are going to be worn once by some star while most fashion consumers will go for the versions with linings. Anyway, the sheerness is boring and the belt seems too heavy with it, but we actually like the style for her. She tends to have bad instincts, but everything from the waist up looks great. Love that neckline for her. Is it enough to call the whole thing good? Well, you tell us.
