The cast of Emilia Pérez got all dolled up for the New York Film Festival premiere. Let’s assess!

Karla Sofía Gascón in Saint Laurent

She’s keeping the look elegant and low-key, which suits her very well. The style of gown is right for her, but she could use a little sparkle or texture to keep it from looking like a void in pictures. The jewelry is well-chosen.

Zoe Saldana in Ferragamo

Ma’am, you had us until the hem. This looks gorgeous on her at first glance, but that goofy skirt, the too-long sleeves and the bulky lapel-to-peplum situation gets weirder the longer we look at it.

Selena Gomez in Vera Wang

Oh, she’s gunning for that Oscar nom. Her style is suddenly much more grown up and sophisticated. We can’t say we love the fake sleeves or the back bow, but she still looks pretty great in it.

The doll feet poking out from under those elephant pants looks hilarious.
