Scarlett Johansson in Saint Laurent at the TRANSFORMERS ONE European Premiere

Scarlett Johansson was the quintessential Lady in Red at the London premiere of Transformers One. We’ve always felt that her red carpet history was a surprisingly spotty one, given her looks (classic blonde bombshell) and the types of films she tends to do (blockbusters and franchises). She works on the lowest fashion difficulty level, which is why it’s disappointing when the results fail to dazzle. Case in point:

Or maybe not? This is by no means a disaster. We can’t even say she looks bad in it. But we do think the styling is weird (flat hair, zombie makeup, demure jewelry) and that the ruching element is wildly overdone. As always, she never truly looks bad on a red carpet, but she only rarely looks great, in our opinion.
