We were mildly intrigued hearing about director Jason Reitman’s upcoming take on the inaugural episode of Saturday Night Live, but it wasn’t until the trailer for Saturday Night dropped this morning that we went from mildly to very intrigued.

To be fair, it’s giving off serious Sorkin vibes and we suspect the entire thing will serve as a hagiography for SNL super-producer Lorne Michaels. But the casting looks fantastic – they really nailed the vibe and the look of the Not Ready for Primetime Players without getting into eerie mimicry or over-relying on makeup. Matthew Rhys as George Carlin is a great idea but Nicholas Braun as Jim Henson is hilarious. This looks like fun.
