Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn came out in sparkly, shiny high style for the New York premiere of A Quiet Place: Day One and we have to admit, we’re a little fascinated by how their promo tour has shaken out, style-wise.

Both of them have opted for flashy, borderline tacky ensembles throughout this tour. He doesn’t have enough of a red carpet resume for us to compare to previous projects, but she really took a turn toward Tacky Town in recent weeks. To be fair, both of these looks are fine, if not downright okay. But we don’t think we’d have made either of these recommendations if asked.

That is a lot of shiny. Too much for one suit, we think. It’s a gorgeous suit, but that shirt just comes off sleazy and looks sloppy. A white cotton dress shirt might’ve worked better. The style doesn’t quite go with the grooming, however. You can’t work a disco dandy look with a shaved head and an unshaved neck.

She looks like the world’s most glamorous barista. It’s not an awful look, but that skirt and train are dumb design elements.
