We hated what Jessica Chastain wore to the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of America’s Burning because it seemed like such a dull and sober frock for a red carpet appearance.
Shapeless, stiff, and oddly businesslike. It’s a semi-serious dress. Given that this is a premiere for a political documentary about American economics, it makes some sense, however. You don’t show up to something like this sporting Gucci diamonds. We can’t say we love it more knowing why it was chosen, but we can understand it at least. With some aggressive styling, it could be pretty cute, but clearly she wasn’t feeling that particular direction. The slingbacks are pretty nice.
