We’re trying to come up with something bitchy to say here, like “Blake Lively showed up to a Chanel dinner wearing the most obvious choice of outfit for a Chanel dinner because she’s basic” or whatever, but we’re not feeling all that mean at the moment (it’ll pass) and actually…is this all that obvious a choice?

Because we figure the most obvious choice would be some sort of classic tweed suit or something, but that wouldn’t be the best pick for New York in June and besides, that’s not really how she rolls. Exuberant, occasionally flamboyant fashion is way more her thing. Believe it or not, we kind of like this. It’s fun and unexpected, but you can’t really claim it’s not Chanel, what with the logo stamped all over it. Our only real quibble is that it gets a little too close to pajamas and we thought that lockdown era trend was behind us.
