Poor Things star and Best Actress Oscar nominee Emma Stone stepped out for the Directors Guild Awards to show support for her collaborator/director Yorgos Lanthimos and to get her face out in front of cameras before the voting gets under way. Her public style went quickly from cray to conservative when she snagged the nomination, but for this occasion, we’re happy(?) to report that she’s back on her bullshit.
There’s a part of us that’s genuinely amazed by how eagerly she reaches for the ugliest shit imaginable. We can’t tell if she’s trying to make some statement about being a leading lady or if she really does like all of this hideous frocks she picks. She doesn’t even have her Louis Vuitton contract to blame for this one, which tells you how much your girl actually likes this brand of cray. Forget the car wash skirt, which is a thing we loathe on principle, but how does anyone look at that bust and think “Oh I’m definitely wearing that out in front of cameras”?
