The stars came out to shine this weekend for the Unforgettable Gala and the 21st Annual Asian-American Awards. Let’s assess their style efforts – or lack thereof.
Benedict Wong
Y’know? We keep trying to come up with a note or a critique here, but we’re forced to admit that all if works really well. We wouldn’t normally recommend matching your shades and your shirt to your jewelry, but he’s pulling it off.
Charles Melton in Yohji Yamamoto
The jacket is beautiful. The pants feel like a bit of an afterthought.
Daniel Dae Kim
That appears to be a white corduroy suit he’s attempting to pull off. We’re not crazy about it, but we’re impressed it’s working as well as it is.
Elizabeth Yu in Gert-Johan Coetzee
This style of dress isn’t normally to our liking, but for some reason, we’re loving this on her. We just wish the hem were a little longer.
Greta Lee in Anna Quan
It’s low-key elegant and it works for her, but we hate that center seam.
Jamie Chung in Sau Lee
Enh. We’re not offended by the outfit, but the sheer gloves take it to Tacky Land.
Lana Condor in Andrew Kwon
That skirt is terrible. Trying to make black leather and silver metallic work in the same outfit was probably a mistake.
Sherry Cola in Balenciaga
Looks great, but the hem is too short.
Simu Liu in Versace
It’s fine, but dull.
Steven Yeun
It’s just dull, no finc.
