With the floodgates open, Anne Hathaway sauntered on through with her co-star Thomasin McKenzie to hit the red carpet at a New York screening of the upcoming Eileen.

We’re kind of digging the recent trend of wearing coats on red carpets when the weather calls for it. It gives the stars one more thing to play with as they take it off for cameras. This coat isn’t the most photogenic one she could’ve picked, but we like the leather accents. The dress is, we’re sorry to say, horrible. The color’s awful and the fringe is an abomination.

This looks pretty great, but we have some quibbles. We realize the oversize cut is trendy, but we think she’d be better served with something a little more tailored to her. The necklace is interesting, but we’re not convinced it works well with the suit and the black boots pull focus.
