For Apple TV press day, Margo’s Got Money Troubles stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning clearly coordinated their looks ahead of time.

We like to think Elle texted Michelle and said “Let’s play up the fact that we’re both really, really blonde.” They’re dressed for a skincare ad.

We can’t say we’re really feeling this. We tend to dislike a too-neutral ensemble for picture-taking situations, although the uniformity of their looks (both physical and fashion-based) helps these outfits. We like the pants but they sit way too high on her and it wasn’t a good idea to do a complicated belt situation on a waist that sits right at mid-stomach. The blouse is too sloppy-looking. And we hate to say it, because we’ve never even imagined saying something like this about her before, but her makeup looks cakey and heavy.

This is kind of an interesting, much more modern and sportier take on what Michelle is wearing. Aside from neutrals, the theme here seems to be “Let’s show up with odd waist issues in our outfits.” We think the top is genuinely interesting, but because it’s tightly corseted, it produces an unflattering hip bulge when you pair it with a loose waist. We honestly think it would have worked with classic skintight jeans.
