A trio of fabulous ladies stepped out in London wearing the best jewelry-displaying gowns in order to support their local Bulgari. And why not? Who amongst us would turn down an offer to model entire piles of diamonds at once? Let’s not be jealous, darlings. But let’s also judge their style choices.

Hmmm. Well, it’s never a bad idea to sport a black gown to set off your heaps of diamonds, but we don’t like the shape of this one and the ruffle just doesn’t work well with that insane choker. The shoes are interesting, but the last thing this look needed was more sparkle. We realize it’s a fool’s errand critiquing someone for wearing too much jewelry at a Bulgari party, but it feels like her various statement pieces are fighting with each other for attention.

Miss Gugu had the opposite set of issues; namely a focus-pulling gown and too little jewelry to pull your attention away from it. To be fair, given how unappealing this gown is (the proportions are bad and the color looks terrible on her), she’d need so much jewelry to distract from it that she wouldn’t be able to stand up straight. That choker is very pretty.

The styling here is impeccaple. Love the gloves, the septum ring, the hair, even the bag. She looks chic, fabulous and modern. We might have wished for just a bit more sparkle, but we’re impressed by how restrained she comes across. That’s hard to pull off at what is essentially a diamond-modeling gig.
