Say what you will about Wes Anderson, but we’ll always be ride-or-die because he’s director with a consistent and recognizable aesthetic and it’s not particularly concerned with realism. This is our way of saying, love his style or hate it, you’re about to be pummeled in the face with it:

Cumberbatch seems insanely well-suited to Anderson’s style. This short is part of a series of four Roald Dahl adaptations on Anderson’s release slate, which will be dropping on four consecutive nights. We can understand and respect those who might find his style cloying or remote, but we’ll be in our seats for every one of these shirt. As we said, we’re ride or die.
