Because the brand is such an easy-to-wear mainstay, a TON of stars hit the front row at the Ralph Lauren show at New York Fashion Week. We are happy to report that a good number of them came correct. As for that easy-to-wear comment, which can be read as a compliment or a bitchslap, just take note of how well-presented most of these looks are, as opposed to some of the sweatier, uncomfortable outfits foisted on so many first-row A-listers at other shows. You see the same thing at the Michael Kors show. When you make good, somewhat basic, classic pieces your whole brand, you tend to have a pretty client base willing to promote it for you. Nevertheless, we will now commence nitpicking.
Amanda Seyfried
The fit’s a little off in the jacket, but this is pretty cute on her.
Ariana DeBose
She brought the drama and we approve. We don’t think the accessories are helping the dress, though.
Charles Melton
A little boxy and conventional, but he looks good.
Diane Keaton
Love the coat, pants and footwear. We think the belt is completely unnecessary, but it’s kind of her deal.
Emma Roberts
A little formal for the event, but we’re not mad at it. The belt is pure RL; not entirely to our tastes, but consistent with the aesthetic.
Gabrielle Union
Trust this lady to nail it every time.
James Marsden
There’s some sort of Benjamin Button shit going on with this bitch. Love the whole look.
Jennifer Lopez
Very J Lo and very Ralph Lauren. Made for each other, you might say.
Jonathan Bailey
We’ve seen the beach pictures. That suit is hellaciously unflattering to that fine-ass body. The colors are kind of awful too.
Julianne Moore
Oof. Honey, no. The jacket is the only thing that works.
Keri Russell
It’s just too much. We get the whole old west cosplay thing that the brand likes to dabble in, but this looks like first-year fashion student work.
Laura Dern
We’re dissolving into puddles of sweat just looking at it, but damn if that isn’t one of the best outfits we’ve seen her wear.
Meghann Fahy
A little dull, but we’re not mad at it. Some jewelry with a little impact would’ve helped.
Mindy Kaling
That’s hot. In every sense of the word.
Pom Klementieff
We hate fringe – and we have a special nose-wrinkle reserved just for leather fringe – but we have to admit she’s working the hell out of this.
