Alright, kittens. It’s time for you to wrestle with that age old philosophical question of just how much surrealism you’re willing to put up with on a red carpet. Behold, the weirdest look on the 2023 VMAs red carpet (and that’s really saying something):

Girlfriend’s got her vertebrae earrings on and she’s sporting keyholes all over herself. If nothing else, you’ve got to respect how hard she worked to avoid being conventional. We’re going to have to admit that, even though we have problems with some aspects of this look – the contrasting bust, the cheap look of the head band and the colors of the earrings – it’s so bizarre and arresting and well-suited to her that we can’t bring ourselves to hate. We also can’t bring ourselves to love it. That’s where you come in.
