Time to wrap up our coverage of the 2023 Tony Awards red carpet and shuffle all these good folks off, well and truly judged for their efforts. Let’s go!
Alex Newell in Christian Siriano
Once again, Christian comes through. They look like a superstar.
Amber Ruffin in Rachel Gilbert
We want to like this, but the bust and bodice are puzzling.
Annaleigh Ashford in Oscar de la Renta
A gorgeous fantasy gown. The midnight blue really makes it.
Arian Moayed in Brunello Cucinelli
White tuxes can be so tricky, but he honestly looks amazing in it. The patent leather shoes and the salt-and-pepper hair really help.
Audra McDonald in Michael Kors Collection
Simple, classic and elegant.
Colman Domingo in Thom Browne
Can’t argue with any of that. We are DROOLING over those shoes. Thom Browne, if you’d like to send a couple pairs to us, Lorenzo’s a nine and Tom’s an eleven. You can DM us for the address.
Dominique Fishback in Dundas
The design is interesting but we think it would’ve looked better without the hip cutout.
Julianne Hough in Carolina Herrera
She must’ve been pissed when she saw the backdrop. It’s a pretty enough gown, but we feel like the print would be better served if it were a mid-length dress.
Lily Rabe in Erdem
The bib and the gloves ruin what could’ve been a really interesting and pretty gown.
Luke Evans in Dolce & Gabbana
This all appears to be in order.
Marcia Gay Harden in Kamperett
We’re not sure about the hairstyle, but she looks pretty great otherwise. The Tonys are the place to go if you want to work some classic elegance without the Hollywood glitz.
Michelle Williams in Chanel
Kind of an underwhelming design. We don’t mind the slightly Roman feel of it, but the off-white is a terrible backing color for silver sequins.
Rachel Brosnahan in Versace
Way too much going on here. Lose the butterflies, stick to one print, and burn the pointy toed sandals.
Stephanie Hsu in Markarian
Not the most interesting black gown in the world, but she looks great in it.
Tatiana Maslany in Vintage Victor Costa
We love her because she has this really fun personality and she routinely steps out in some of the weirdest looks. The gown is a LOT, but we might’ve been okay with it if she’d ditched the lace gloves. Just kidding. We’d never be okay with that gown.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen III in Ferragamo
It’s interesting, but we’re not sure the cut of that jacket appeals to us. And shouldn’t there be buttons somewhere?
