Having written roughly 700 million billion words about the 2023 Met Gala at this point (give or take), we would like to take this moment to publicly thank Lil Nas X for wearing something that simply doesn’t need any words.
It’s a big explosion of drag-adjacent queer sparkle and it doesn’t require or ask for critiques or commentary. It just demands that you look, in the best drag tradition.
We’ll say this: It’s impressive as hell that he got such a well-established and respected menswear house as Dior Homme to supply him with little more than a thong for the biggest fashion night of the year. It may not be fashion, but it’s gay as fuck and we love him for it.
