Darlings, (part of) the case of the highly anticipated (by us, anyway) second season of Schmigadoon came out for the premiere and more than half of them dressed up for the occasion! We bet you can guess what the underdressed members had in common if you think really hard about it.
Cecily Strong
We’re not about to rag on anyone who put on heels and got their hair did for this occasion because they’re already miles ahead of their lazy-ass castmates, but we have to say, if anybody had asked us ahead of time, we’d have waved away any thought of pairing that puffy sleeved blouse with that jumper. To be clear: we’d have said to keep the blouse and lose the jumper.
Michael Key
Stopped by on his way to a CVS run, evidently.
Aaron Tveit
We won’t say he didn’t try and we can’t claim that this event called for more formal attire, but it all feels tremendously underwhelming. The jacket is slightly interesting but we can’t get behind the blanket stitch, which makes it look way too craftsy.
Dove Cameron in Michael Lo Sordo and Giuseppe di Morabito
Do we love it? No, but the girl is almost making shocking pink satin baggy pants work for her, so we feel like some recognition is in order.
Jaime Camil
Tried a little.
Ann Harada in In Earnest
The dress is cute, even if it does have one or two too many decorative elements to it. We like the idea of pairing it with a black jacket, but we don’t think this is the right one for it. A bolero or moto would look better.
Jane Krakowski
It’s extremely Michelle Obama circa 2012, but that only means it’s a classically feminine, slightly mature style, which is perfect for her.
