Cult classic series Party Down is coming back for an unlikely third season after a very long hiatus and the extremely happy stars and guest stars of the show all wore funeral clothes to celebrate its premiere. Seriously, what is going on with all of these colorless red carpets lately. Man, when that fashion pendulum swings back, it swings back hard. Anyway, let’s assess these colorless people.
James Marsden
We don’t love it, but the texture is interesting, the shoes are nice, and the wearer couldn’t look less than pretty if he tried.
Jane Lynch
This was definitely a casual event, by the way. Not a lot of glitzy head-turners or attention-seeking on this red carpet. Anyway, the coat is nice, but this is overall not a particularly photogenic look.
Jennifer Garner
She looks really cute and well put together, but we hate that seam under the bust.
Ken Marino
There were no pictures of him posing normally. Nice tux, though. He looks like a drunk groomsman, but we suspect that might actually be deliberate.
Kristen Bell
Surprisingly dress, given how the rest of the crowd showed up. She looks pretty great, actually.
Martin Starr
It’s a very cute look, but the double buttons on the shirt are a little distracting.
Megan Mullally
She’s comfy and the outfit is photogenic and loaded with personality. We’d say it’s a win.
Zoë Chao in Rebecca Vallance
It’s giving Goth Snow White. Probably the dressiest, flashiest look of the bunch. We don’t love the bows or the cutouts, but the style is cute and we appreciate her yanking that spotlight onto her.
