Catherine, Princess of Wales Launches Her Shaping Us Campaign in Alexander McQueen

Princess Cathy stepped out twice already this week as part of her ambitious push to launch her “Shaping Us” early childhood development campaign, which she’s been talking up on the Waleses’ socials for the past few days. She got a little sassy with her style for an evening event last night and then stepped out this morning in a fairly work-a-day outfit for a working princess.

It is, like most of her outfits, aggressively, rigidly matched to within an inch of its life, but that really is a gorgeous suit on her. The color sings against her own and the fit is superb. We’d love to see it with a pair of silver sandals, but evidently the UK will collapse if royal toes are glimpsed. We’re intrigued by the little flash of satin under the jacket. Those earrings are gorgeous.

A typically great Cathy coat paired with typically wrong (for Cathy) accessories. It’s not that the brown boots don’t go so much as they don’t do anything for the look. Ditto the bag, which has kind of an ugly design.
