Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis, Annaleigh Ashford and Kumail Nanjiani hit the red carpet for the premiere of their limited series Welcome to Chippendales, which we can’t wait to watch. Some of our favorite stars are in this post and we’re pleased to announce that most of them did fairly well on the fashion front, largely by ignoring our advice or complaints about celebrity fashion. We’re flexible bitches, if nothing else.

Having said that, it’s time for some tough love. Because you can’t spell “tough love” without T Lo. Since the very idea of Murray Bartlett in head-to-toe leather should be a slam dunk of a look, we are compelled to say that which we have held off on saying for some time. We don’t think he’s getting good advice or has the best instincts about what works for him. Since he’s approaching high fashion menswear at pretty much the lowest difficulty setting, the results should be more impressive. There. We said it. Put more precisely, the jacket is too tight and the color does less than nothing for him.

That’s a pretty spectacular dress for her. We tend to get bored by black on the red carpet and we also tend to hate that style of asymmetrical skirt, but it’s all really working for her. We would have suggested ditching the gloves and getting some gold cuffs to finish it off.

Believe it or not, there are times when we’re really grateful to see someone on the red carpet in neutrals, despite our constant complaining about them. Like the Nicholas Hoult ensemble from the other day, this one gives us the rare opportunity to prove that we don’t hate neutrals per se. This suits her really well and she looks great in it. We don’t love the placement of the embellishments, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Love the sandals and the bag, but we’d have rec’d a couple more pieces of slightly showier jewelry.

This is spectacular. Again: as much as you might have read us complaining about brown suits or turtlenecks on the red carpet, we’ve always said we have to give credit where it’s due when they work really well for someone. Nice watch modeling job too. He’s really come a long way in his public style.
