Y’know… our first impulse upon seeing these shots of Jared Leto at the Business of Fashion 500 Gala in Paris is to roll our eyes a little, but honestly, if you can’t dress like this for a Paris fashion gala, then what are Paris fashion galas even for?
Sure, he’s attention-seeking and vaguely ridiculous, but we’ll take this sort of fashion weirdness from him over that “gay vampire” look he was sporting for so long. We can’t, in good conscience, spend over a decade imploring male celebrities to dress more like artists and circus acts rather than like accountants and lawyers for the red carpet and then get all huffy and “Not like that” just because Jared Leto can be a little pretentious. It’s not what we’d call chic and we can’t even say it suits him all that well, but it’s Paris and this sure is a lot of fashion. He’s on point, we’d say.
But yes, okay. He looks like a gay clown serial killer. We imagine that was the goal.
