We can usually take or leave Ralph Lauren’s brand of Gatsby-ism, but sometimes it takes a new wearer to remix an old style just by putting it on. Ariana deBose was one of the honorees at this year’s Elle Women in Hollywood party ad she opted to go totally queer girl in her style, picking a suit from the brand’s menswear collection.
We can’t say the white pants truly appeal to us, but she looks so cute here that it doesn’t matter. Love the shoes, the hair and the earrings, which all work perfectly to keep the look lightly femme, in the manner she tends to prefer. On a male star, we’d find this a little stale, but she really does bring new life to the old look.
