We’ll always root for a gal who reaches for a vintage Mugler over a current Dolce & Gabbana any day, even if vintage Mugler has become something of a red carpet standard in the last few years. Euphoria star and double Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney picked this sort of cutely challenging frock from 1981, but we’re not sure the styling is up to it.

As beautiful as the jewelry is, we’re not sure the necklace or the tennis bracelets really work with the dress. Similarly, we think the shoes are gorgous, but they also don’t feel like the best possible style here. This is all extremely nitpicky of us and it doesn’t even matter; partially because the final vote comes down to you, but mostly because the dress is such a centerpiece that the whole question of whether this look is IN or OUT hinges on whether you like it.
