Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien came out for the premiere of their new social media comedy (which is starting to become its own film genre) Not Okay, where he plays a douchey influencer and she plays an Insta-scammer.
They opted to go hard on the red carpet. For this we thank them.
Zoey Deutch in Elie Saab
This frock is fun, photogenic, and a little bit ridiculous. She’s extremely well-suited to these ’80’s styles. We’d like this a little more if it wasn’t in such an ’80s color and if it didn’t have that wonky hem. We know there is some disagreement on this matter among style and beauty influencers at the moment, but matching your eyeshadow, manicure AND shoes to your dress is probably going a little far.
Dylan O`Brien in AMI Paris
We want to like this, because we feel like we swore an oath to always love a straight guy in pink, but this feels like two current menswear trends – pink suits and tank tops with suits – that so many other guys have pulled off better on the red carpet. The fit is too slouchy for the style and the color. The shoes almost come off too dressy for it because the styling is so casual. As a look, it just doesn’t quite hit the mark. Like Zoey’s dress, we think the whole thing looks better standing next to its co-star. Dynasty dresses and Miami Vice suits tend to look better paired up than on their own.
That Caroline Calloway cameo was a Too Online deep cut we weren’t expecting.
