We find it a little hard to believe that Spiderhead co-stars Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett coordinated their looks for the New York screening, even if they do almost-kinda sorta match.

We think shiny suits are likely to have an upswing soon, just going by how tacky everything’s been of late. We don’t hate the idea of one, but we really don’t like the color story here, especially matching the shirt to the suit. It comes off a little too “Brad Pitt in Ocean’s Eleven, and you, sir, are no Brad Pitt in Ocean’s Eleven.

If you’ve read us for any length of time you’re probably bracing for another diatribe about cutouts, but we’re here to surprise you: we think she looks great. Sometimes you just have to acknowledge when a design really works for someone. The proportions here are exactly right and she’s styled in a way that tells your eye where to go. It just works. We wouldn’t necessarily want to see it at the Oscars or in front of the Queen or whatever, but good style is about the right garment on the right wearer in the right setting.

That was not what we expected to see when we clicked play on that trailer for the first time.
