Good Lady Cate stepped out onto a red carpet for the first time in 18 months and we were so excited by it that we got up on a Saturday morning and immediately posted about it, which is the highest praise we can bestow on any star. Our weekends are sacrosanct and only the fiercest fashionistas will rouse us from our cat-covered bed on a Saturday morning. We thought GLC’s goofy little ensemble for the Goya Awards photo call was fun and unexpected, but her look for the main event was the pure high-fashion dazzle we’ve come to expect from her.
We’re just not sure we like it all that much. Love the hair and makeup, love – in theory – a Champagne-colored gown with a shit-ton of crystals hanging off it. But we’re not feeling that keyhole bust (or the rather obvious makeup contouring, but that’s another story) and we wish the gown had been individually beaded instead of tacking these long strings of crystals like a fortune teller’s bead curtain. It seems like no matter how she moves, the dress will instantly look a little sloppy. That should not be a sentence one should read about a GLC style jawn. Are we perhaps being a little harsh on it because our expectations are high? We’re asking. In other words…
