Caitriona Balfe, fresh off not getting the Oscar nomination she absolutely deserved for her role in Belfast, attended the premiere of the new season of Outlander – but she had to do it remotely because the world is what it is at the moment. The rest of the cast were in London, while she posed by herself in Beverly Hills. We keep saying this, but despite constant prognostications to the contrary, the red carpet really isn’t going anywhere. Much like nature, publicists will always find a way.
Even if we hated this outfit, we don’t think we could bring ourselves to rag on it too hard because the lady is serving, even if she has to do it all by her lonesome. Some stars might have just phoned it in or not even bothered, but here she is, giving the fans what they want. We love the shape of the dress. We just wish she hadn’t worn black in front of a black backdrop. The earrings are gorgeous and we like how the sharpness of them contrasts with the balloony top half of the dress. We don’t think the peach clutch goes with the outfit at all, though.
