Miss Daisy (which is a phrase we sing-song 30 times a day because we have a cat named Daisy) has a new, rather goofily intriguing film coming out and once again we are reminded of the kind of red carpet slayage we are being denied in These Uncertain Times. Interesting thing to ponder here: When she was doing Star Wars promo work, she routinely stuck to that universe’s main color story, which has always been red, white and/or black. At the time we considered smart branding from the newest Disney star. Now we’re wondering if she’s just a gal who loves stark red-and-black looks.

No complaints here, of course. The dress design has a few of those prairie-esque, lightly prim markers, like the ruffled cuffs and collar or the bow. But it’s got a vaguely 1930s feel to it that really suits her and the brilliant red keeps it from coming off too fussy or twee. She looks great.
