We can’t tell you how relieved we are that Kristen Wiig, who plays Wonder Woman nemesis Cheetah in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984, did not succumb to the temptation to spend the entire promo tour in animal prints. We’re all for stars dressing to evoke whatever project they’re in the process of promoting, but actual cosplay is often a bit too precious and winds up sending the message that the actor is indistinguishable from the part they’re playing. To be fair, Gal Gadot does a pretty good job of threading the needle on Diana Prince cosplay and true fashion, largely by not trying to look like an Amazon princess but like a movie star who happens to favor red, white and blue outfits with metallic accents.
Anyway, our point here is that instead of doing specific character-based fashion, she’s taking a broader approach here by simply serving Bad Girl fashion:
If Darth Vader had a sister, this is what she’d wear to formal events. We’re not normally fans of big leather dresses, but this is so dramatic and looks so great on her that we have no choice but to love it. The boots were a great touch.
