Nigerian fashion designer Andrea Iyamah’s eponymous brand is “strongly inspired by colour, ethnic cultures, nature and design elements that stay true to creating authentic clothing and resort wear with hints of a retro yet contemporary edge in design.” Known for her swimwear designs, her whole line includes custom and ready-to-wear dresses gowns, and separates. The look is fresh and modern, but clearly inspired, as her site puts it, “by an array of African cultures.” Gabrielle Union, Ciara, Kate Hudson and Issa Rae have all worn pieces from her line, which is becoming a favorite among the resort wear set.
