Dua Lipa stopped by the AMAs for a bit before heading on to her second job performing on a synchronized swimming team.
The queen of the water ballet.
Now, as we always try to remind folks whenever another one of them rolls around, it’s good to remember that music award red carpets encourage a certain level of fashion cray. We are talking pop stars, after all. If a girl wants to come out to the AMAs covered in sequined sea creatures, who are we to judge? Other than being people who judge for a living, we mean. We don’t have a problem with the idea of this look, is what we’re saying. But we don’t like the look itself. The seashell cups are too small, from a proportional sense and that pink ruffle is awful. As for the styling, it feels really unbalanced. Silver platforms, a multi-colored pedi, bright blue glitter eyeshadow, that all tracks. Low-key hair and generic jewelry? We figure if you’re gonna go for the Full Tacky, you should commit to it all the way. She’s clearly having fun with it. We just wish she could’ve turned the dials up one more notch to really take it to drag levels.
